Katavi National Park spans over 3,000 square miles of western Tanzania. Lions, hippos and crocodiles live in harmony, until an unusual climatic cycle turns the normal dry season into an extreme drought. Lion cubs face mortal danger from a rogue male lion intent on a takeover, hippos fight viciously for dwindling river territory, and even the crocodiles struggle to survive until the rains arrive.
